Every year, about 4 million students graduate from high school in the US, but many leave without a clear sense of their strengths or the diverse career paths available to them. Founder CJ Wheelock saw this first hand throughout his career. After earning his degree, he navigated several industries, often realizing that the traditional career advice he received didn’t align with the diverse opportunities he later discovered. And CJ’s not alone — only 27% of college graduates have a job related to their major and 9 out of 10 people regret rushing their career choice.
This experience drove him to create OMG Career, a platform that would help young people easily identify their strengths and effortlessly explore careers they may have never heard of before. Whether it’s becoming a flight attendant, sleep technician, ethical hacker, or even a river guide, CJ believes that students shouldn’t be limited by the “traditional” way of doing things, but rather encouraged to nurture strengths into career possibilities that truly excite them.
